I am the poet and painter that use to go by Henry Redquill Vasquez. Although now I simply go by Henry Alex Vasquez just wanted to clarify that. I created this wix site as a pilgrimage away from known platforms as a way to gain more independence. I am now more of a painter than a poet, I written since 2016 and as of 2018 began painting with watercolor. Since the early summer of 2018 I have now gone on to acrylic. Some call me an impressionist.
At the age of twenty I began writing poetry , I got some readers but I knew after four years that a new calling was coming to me. In June of 2018 I painted to get rid of my insomnia pain, eventually I could not stop painting and it took on a life of its own. My first paintings were about clowns, pirates and mythological creatures. By the end of the summer I have painted landscapes, abstract and surrealist art. In autumn of 2018 I have painted autumn and winter paintings. That December I worked on more edgier themes like storms, wraiths and crows as well as a stormy library. I also painted spring themed portraits. Before this site was made I began a painting class and a drawing class which i uploaded two of those pieces on the internet. In recent months I have tried to apply more vibrant color to my works. I also used the ocean as my main subject of interest .
